Adopt One, Until There Is None!

Why Should I Adopt?

The real question is, why shouldn’t I adopt? Pets are always there for us when we need them. They are our best friends, our stress relievers, and the best teachers in life. They are a shoulder to cry on, they are the best listeners, and they will never turn their back on you. Many of the pets that come into your local shelter are lost or have been given up by their families. Shelter animals make the best companions. All they need is for someone to provide them with the lifelong love and attention they all deserve. It’s up to you to make the difference.

Microchip Clinic – Pre-Registration

The Rea Family Animal Shelter, in partnership with Ogemaw County Animal Control, is hosting a Microchip Clinic!

Microchipping is provided at no cost. However, a $19.99 annual registration fee is required to register your pet's microchip and link it to your contact information. This fee is paid online directly to the microchip provider, not at the event. Keeping your pet's microchip registration active and contact information up to date is an important step in helping reunite lost pets with their owners.

Pre-registration is encouraged! Completing this form helps us estimate attendance and ensure we have enough microchips available.

This is a walk in event, so no appointment is necessary. A limited number of additional microchips will be available for those who do not pre-register, while supplies last.

Please complete one form per household and indicate the number of dogs and cats you plan to bring.

All animals must be properly restrained. Dogs must be on a leash, and cats must be in a secure carrier.
